GIRLS UNIFORM
BALLET
NURSERY – Pink ISTD lycra skirted leotard, optional pink crossover cardigan (if students wish to wear an extra layer in class), pink ballet socks or tights and pink leather ballet shoes with elastics.
PRE-PRIMARY & PRIMARY – ISTD Aqua skirted regulation leotard, pink ballet socks or pink seam free ballet tights (socks are compulsory for exams for Pre-Primary and Primary, pink leather ballet shoes with elastics for class and pink satin ballet shoes for exams, with elastics for Pre Primary and ribbons for Primary.
GRADE 1 – 3 – ISTD Bluebell regulation leotard, pink seam free tights (we recommend Capezio hold and stretch) pink leather ballet shoes with elastics for class and pink satin ballet does with ribbons for exams for Grade 1’s. Canvas split sole ballet shoes with elastics for Grade 2’s & 3’s for class and pink split sole satin ballet shoes with ribbons for exams for grade 3’s.
GRADE 4 – 6 – Black Cotton, strapped, low back leotard (we recommend BLOCH or Capezio – must not have crossed straps at back), pink seam free ballet tights (Capezio hold and stretch), pink split sole canvas ballet shoes with elastics for class and pink split sole satin ballet shoes with ribbons for exams. Pink pointe shoes for pointe work ( we recommend Gaynor Minden). Please note we do not allow any students to dance in BLOCH pointe shoes!
MAJORS (INTERMEDIATE, ADVANCED 1 & 2) – Black Cotton, strapped, low back leotard (BLOCH). MODERN
PRIMARY – MAJORS – Purple Delphinium or Flo Pink Starlite Velour leotard with high neck and keyhole back, black lycra footless leggings for Primary – Grade 3 and black footless tights for all other grades. Black jazz shoes, with split soles from grade 1 & 2. Footundeez may be worn from – Grade 3 – Majors.
TAP
PRIMARY – GRADE 2 – Ballet or modern uniforms should be worn (with black footless dance tights for exams & Purple Delphinium High Neck Starlite leotard) and black Bloch Timestep tap shoes, with heel and toe taps.
GRADE 3 – MAJORS – Ballet or modern uniforms should be worn (with black footless dance tights for exams & Purple Delphinium High Neck leotard up to Grade 6 & Black Flared leg catsuit from Intermediate upwards). For shoes, we recommend Bloch lace up ‘Jazz Taps’, with No.2 teletone heel and toe taps.
STREET JAZZ
GIRLS – Black CDA T-shirt, Grey or Navy CDA Bottoms, Optional Grey or Navy CDA hooded jumper in cold weather if an extra layer is needed for warming up. Black Jazz shoes or Jazz trainers.
GIRLS UNIFORM
JAZZ & LYRICAL
ALL LEVELS – Plain black dance tops or leotards – own choice of style, black jazz pants, black lycra dance leggings, black or tanned footless dance tights with black dance shorts/pants. Ankle warmers – optional and black slip on split sole jazz shoes or jazz trainers and foot thongs or Capezio Pirouette 2’s for Lyrical.
ACRO
JUNIOR LEVELS 1 & 2 – Pink or Purple high neck Starlite Velour regulation leotard with keyhole back and black lyrca dance leggings.
SENIOR LEVEL – Black Starlite Masquerade Spirit Leotard with Mesh top and cap sleeves, with black footless dance tights.
WARM UP WEAR
Students can wear CDA Tracksuits when warming up (hoodies only for ballet). Knitted woolie wear in black or navy can also be warn in ballet class. This includes woolie tops, shorts or all in ones.
COMPETITION WEAR
All students attending competitions must wear their CDA tracksuits and t-shirt at all times.
BOYS UNIFORM
BALLET
NURSERY – PRIMARY – White RAD leotard, black shorts, white socks, black ballet shoes with elastics.
GRADE 1 + – White RAD leotard, black cotton dance leggings, dance support, belt, white socks, black leather ballet shoes.
TAP
ALL LEVELS – White RAD leotard or white t-shirt, black trousers for tap or black jazz pants, dance support, belt, black tap shoes with teletone taps – grade 2 + (we recommend Bloch ‘Jazz Tap’ shoes with No.2 taps) and black jazz shoes for modern.
STREET JAZZ
ALL LEVELS – Black t-shirt or top, black shorts or tracksuit bottoms, dance support, and black jazz shoes or jazz trainers. (black knee pads for ‘Boys Dance’) .

Please wear something that is comfortable and that you are able to move around in. No jeans or skirts please. For ballet it is important that you are comfortable but it is also a good idea to wear something that shows the line of your body. Any soft ballet shoes can be worn, jazz shoes or jazz trainers and tap shoes with teletone taps ( we recommend Bloch lace up shoes with No.2 taps).
After a period of half a term, your child is expected to be wearing the correct uniform. Students that arrive to class without the correct uniform, will not be able to take part and will be asked to watch.
